About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

KUL to XMN . XMN to TAO . TAO to LAX

Hello

I am looking to travel KUL to XMN with a 1.30h layover in XMN, then travel XMN to TAO with a 6h layover before traveling TAO to LAX.

It has two stops in China.
Do I need a visa even if I'm just a connecting passenger?

No, you don't need a visa because your itinerary is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. You will simply print out your flight tickets and those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in Kuala Lumpur that you will fly to Los Angeles via China using 24 hour visa free transit. You will present your tickets and be allowed to board the plane.

Upon arrival in Xiamen, you will approach to 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit that will be granted to you because the next portion of your itinerary will be on a domestic flight. Here I'm a bit worried because the layover of just 90 minutes in Xiamen appears to be very short. Having in mind that you will have to apply for a temporary entry permit, to clear immigration and customs, I wonder whether you will have enough time to accomplish all the mentioned formalities?

I hope that you are traveling on a single ticket all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Los Angeles, probably on XiamenAir because if this is not a case, you would not be able to collect your luggage and perform recheck.
