Visa on travel

Hei,
I and my daughter (7 years) has Norwegian (Norway) passport and want to visit Hainan in November about 10 days. I plan to book hotel and ticket by self without any travel agency. Can we just show the hotel and ticket information and then apply for VOA when we arrive Hainan?
Thanks.
Anders

I would not suggest you to rely on Hainan VOA. On this website, there are several cases of people been denied the plane boarding because they didn't have an invitation from a local tourist agency from Hainan. In other words, all those who plan to travel to Hainan are supposed to rely on 30 day visa free access and not on Hainan VOA. Hainan VOA is good in theory, but unless you do not depart from Hong Kong directly to Hainan, I would not recommend you to do that because you could be easily denied boarding in your origin country. In reality, everything you need from an agency is their, we can call it, an invitation letter and you will just book from them a simple service like airport transfer or similar. All the rest will be absolutely your choice and your sovereign itinerary.
