About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Pakistan Passport, 10.5 Hours Transit in Beijing.

I am flying from Australia to Pakistan through Air China on Pakistani PP. I have a transit of about 10.5 hours in Beijing, I have already booked a Hotel and have return flights back to Australia.

Would I be able to get a TWOV or Do I need to apply for a Transit Visa before Travelling?

If Beijing is your only stop in China and you have a layover of only 10.5 hours, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa.

Zaib, if you are traveling on a single (through) ticket, you may be or may be not allowed to exit the airport, although you are perfectly allowed to apply for a temporary entry permit upon your landing at 24 hour visa free transit counter. You will present your flight tickets and your accommodation booking confirmation, but you have to know that the issuing of this permit is always upon sovereign discretion of the immigration authorities on the day of your arrival. So, you can find yourself denied an entry permit and you will have to spend your layover time at the transit zone of the airport.

In case if you are traveling on separate tickets, then the authorities will definitely grant you a permit because you need it to collect your luggage and to perform a recheck.

In nay case, you will print out your flight tickets and have the printouts with you. Also, you will declare in Australia that you will travel to Pakistan via Beijing using 24 hours visa free transit. After a short inspection of your tickets, you will be definitely allowed to board the plane.
