About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

BCN-PVG SHA-SZX SZX-AKL

Hi, I have a complex itinerary and am not sure if I need a visa.
I fly from Spain to Shanghai Pudong. There I need to change airports as my next flight departs from Shanghai Hongqiao 8 hours later.
From there I fly to Shenzhen Bao'An Airport where I need to claim my baggage and check in again.
From my landing in Shanghai to my last departure from Shenzhen there are less than 15 hours.

Do I need a visa? Could you show the official source where you found your information?

Thank you very much!

You don't need a visa because your itinerary is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. You can check by yourself by looking in Timatic. You can take a look by searching in Air New Zealand website, along with some others who also allow the access to this database.

You will have to print out your flight tickets and have the printouts with you. You will declare at check-in in Barcelona that you will travel to Auckland via China using 24 hour visa free transit and you will present your tickets with a long, usually 14 digit numbers. After a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane.

Upon arrival in Shanghai, you will approach 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit and you will again present your tickets and tell the same story. After a short inspection, you will be granted a permit and you will be allowed to collect your luggage, to clear the formalities and to take a metro or maybe even better, a direct shuttle bus (Line 1) to Hongqiao airport.
