About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Visa required or not?

Hi. I will be travelling from Vancouver- Chengdu- Lhasa- Kathmandu. I have a 3 hours layover in Chengdu and 1 hour 30 mins layover in Lhasa. I won't be travelling anywhere during the transits. I have a Nepalese passport. Do I still require a transit visa?

No, you don't need any kind of visa because your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. You will just print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in Vancouver that you will travel to Kathmandu via China using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane. Upon arrival in Chengdu, you will approach 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. It will be granted to you to continue your travel towards Lhasa and finally to Kathmandu.
