Im a bruneian passport holder, do i need a visa to travel from HK to Guangzhou via high speed train.

The citizens of Brunei do not need a visa for China for a stay of up to 15 days long. You can use every mean of transport between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, including high speed train, of course. Everything you need is just your valid passport.
