About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hotel near Beijing Airport

Hi,
I will be transiting through Beijing in December and I have a 22 hour layover in Beijing. Unfortunately I have a Pakistani passport so I'm not eligible for the 24 hour visa free transit. I was wondering if I can still get a hotel close to the airport or if I have to stay inside the hotel for the entire 22 hours.

Hello, thank you for your response. So I should not book a hotel close to the airport before arriving in Beijing incase they don't grant me the temporary permit?
Also, are there any hotels or places to sleep at night inside the airport?
Thanks!

Actually, you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit because in the opposite, you would not be allowed to travel through China without a visa. The problem with Pakistani citizens is that they are very rarely granted a temporary entry permit that allows you to exit the airport. As you can see, this is the crucial difference. Trust me, nobody can guarantee whether you will be allowed or not to exit the airport. It is all upon discretion of an immigration official at the moment when you approach 24 hour visa free transit counter and ask for a temporary entry permit.

Amrah, it is impossible for me to predict any outcome. Who knows? Maybe you would be allowed to exit the airport exactly with a prebooked accommodation and denied entry if you don't have one. 22 hours is very long time and maybe, but just maybe, I would suggest you to rely on the airport hotels that are located within transit area: Hourly Hotel and GoSleep Pods. Anyway, they are relatively pricey.
