About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Milano to Shanghai (transit Hong Kong) and then Hong Kong

Am I allowed to 72 hours transit if I leave from Milano to Shanghai (not direct flight I have the change in Hong Kong ) then shanghai to Hong Kong direct flight? Tomorrow I have to take the tickets thanks for your confirmation
