About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hours and HongKong?

Would I be eligible for the 72 hours visa?

I am flying:
1) From Paris to Nanjing, with three hours connecting flight in Beijing. Arrival on the 20th of October.
2) From Nanjing to Paris, with three hours connecting flight in Hong-Kong. Departure on the 22nd of October.

I am just worried with Hong-Kong.. if I should change it or not..

Kind regards,
Alisson

Uow, many thanks for your quick answer.
Will I be entitled to the 72 hours visa if I travel:

from Paris to Nanjing with stopover in Frankfurt.
from Nanjing to Paris with stopover in Hong-Kong?

Sorry that it sounds silly, but it is difficult to understand the status of Hong-Kong.

My other option would be
from Nanjing to Paris with stopover in Bangkok.

Hong Kong is not a problem in your itinerary at all. The real problem are two landings in a row in two different Chinese transit zones (in your case in Beijing and Shanghai zones). Your choice of flights immediately limits you to 24 hour visa free transit.

You will have to obtain a Chinese visa in advance or to rearrange your flights to have a stop within only one zone. You can retain Hong Kong, by the way.

Yes, your itinerary:

Paris - Frankfurt - Nanjing - Hong Kong - Paris

Is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit within Shanghai transit zone. Hong Kong is considered as a third country for visa free transit purposes.

If you want, I mean, if the price is more affordable, you can replace Hong Kong with Bangkok if you wish. In reality, Hong Kong is just fine.
