About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi. I am holding US passport. Traveling from LAX to Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have a stopover in SHANGHAI

Hi. I am holding US passport. Traveling from LAX to Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have a stopover in SHANGHAI PUDONG airport 3 hours and then KUNMING for my connection flight after 13 hours do I need a visa ??
Please advise.

Ishrak, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. You should print out your flight tickets and have them with you. Upon your landing in Shanghai, you will approach to 24 hour visa free transit where you will apply for a temporary entry permit. After this formality, you will proceed to the gate for your flight to Kunming as a passenger on domestic flight. Also, you will declare in LAX at check-in that you are traveling to Dhaka, Bangladesh via China using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane.
