Yes, you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area in principle. Anyway, to be absolutely certain about it, here is a couple of conditions that have to be fulfilled:
- Your cruise is not allowed to have its last port of call, immediately before Tinajin, in mainland China
- Your flight from Beijing to UK is not allowed to make any additional landing of any kind within mainland China and in the country where your cruise will have its last port of call, immediately before Tianjin
If the above mentioned conditions are fulfilled, then you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area.
