About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi,
My last port prior to Shanghai on my cruise is Hakata, Japan.
My nationality is American, born and raised in the USA.

Japan-Shanghai-Hong Kong on a USA passport is fine for 144 hours transit without visa.

You are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area. You should just take care that your flight from Shanghai to Hong Kong is a nonstop one!
