About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

UK citizen - travelli London to New Zealand. On route stopping in Shanghai for 2 days ( 48 hours) .

I will have valid UK passport expiry date 2029 and a New Zealand Visa. Air Tickets for onward flight from Shanghai to Wellington but until I check back in on the day of departure i will not have a seat number on the onward trip.

IS THAT OK?

You do not need an allocated seat number. The "confirmed seat" simply means that you cannot fly standby. You just need to print your confirmed ticket showing the long ticket number. Also make sure that your flight from Shanghai to New Zealand does not have any other stops in mainland China.
