About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

what I really want to have more information about it is the 144-hour VISA Free Transit:

I am a Portuguese national and I am flying to Shanghai this October and leaving Shanghai on the 2 nd of November, I will stay in Shanghai for 6 days. Do I really need to request a VISA or can I fly under the 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit?
I will depart from Lisbon and do a transfer in Amsterdam

Please help and advise?
Thanks a lot,
Sandra Tavares

Sandra, you did not offer enough information for a reliable answer. Anyway, if you intend to fly the itinerary:

Lisbon - Amsterdam - Shanghai - Amsterdam - Lisbon

You will not be eligible for any kind of visa free transit scheme because this is not a transit, but a return flight:

Amsterdam - Shanghai - Amsterdam

To be eligible, your flight itinerary needs a third country, for example:

Amsterdam - Shanghai - Brussels

or

Amsterdam - Shanghai - Frankfurt

As you can see everything that matters are the immediate points before and after your Chinese destination. They have to be in different countries.
