About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Chengdu

Phuket - Chengdu - Los Angeles

Hello,

if anyone can help me to answer my concern:

Flight Phuket - Chengdu - Los Angeles.
Chengdu to Los Angeles has a technical/refueling stop in Jinan (and on the way back in Hangzhou) 2 Hrs at the airport. The flight number is the same and on my flight ticket it also shows as one leg.
Can I rest in peace that I will be able to get the 144Hr transit visa?

You are not eligible for 144 hours transit without visa. You are limited to 24 hours visa-free transit in China because you have two stops. It's irrelevant that it's the same flight number. Longer than 24 hours requires a visa in advance of travel.

24h visa-free would be perfectly enough for both of my stops as long as I can leave the airport to visit the city.

Yes, you will be allowed to exit the airport in Chengdu. Upon your arrival in Chengdu you will apply for a temporary entry permit. Please, have your tickets in hard copy.
