Transit visa after visa expires

Can I get a transit visa after my visa expires? I have a layover in Beijing after traveling from Zhuhai which means I'll go over my visa days but I will be in transit?

You are not allowed to enjoy any kind of visa free transit if your origin is within mainland China. To be eligible for any kind of visa free transit, your itinerary needs country A, then China (country B) and after your stop in China, a country C that is different from both country A and B.

So, your itinerary:

Zhuhai - Beijing - country C

Is not eligible because we miss a country A.

As far as visa free transit is concerned, it is not connected to your visa status. For example, you can travel with a valid visa in a transit and tell to the immigration to spare your visa.

My suggestion for you is to exit Zhuhai to Macau or Hong Kong during the validity of your visa, at least on the very last day and to book your itinerary from Macau or Hong Kong because in this case, you will have something like this:

Macau - Beijing - UK

This is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing!
