About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

September 29 - October 05 Beijing

Hi,

1. I am wondering if I qualify for 144-hour TWOV. Here is my itinerary.

US -> Beijing -> US
Arriving Sunday September 29 at 4:50pm, Departing October 5 at 4pm.
US Citizen, total hours in china 143.167.

2. Does the time start at 0:00:00 on Monday September 30th or does it start from the moment my flight lands?

3. Are there any fees for this this method of entry? Any paperwork that needs to be submitted?

4. Success rate of entry using this method?

So I have modified my itinerary now, it is US -> Beijing -> Taipai -> Beijing (not going to leave airport) -> US. This would qualify, yes?

1. You do not qualify since your itinerary is US - Beijing - US. To be eligible there should be a third country within your itinerary. Your itinerary is a return flight and not a transit. If you were going to a third country your dates would be fine.

2. If your itinerary was eligible your first day would be September 30 at 0:00:00 as you have concluded.

3. There are no fees at all. You were supposed to bring just your valid passport and your tickets in hard copy, in reality your e-tickets printouts. Upon your arrival in China, you are supposed to find 144 hour TWOV counter, fill out the blue form and present it to the relevant authorities.

4. The rate is practically 100% if the citizenship and itinerary are eligible.

Priyanka, this is perfectly eligible itinerary for visa free transit.

During your first arrival in Beijing, you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit and during your second arrival, your short stay will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit.

You are ready to go :)
