72-hour Visa Free Transit

My wife (Australian passport) and I (New Zealand passport) are arriving in Shanghai on a cruise on Saturday 26 October - expected to be at the Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, No.1 Baoyang Rd, Shanghai. We then fly out of Shanghai Pudong Airport on Cathay Pacific to return to Australia on Tuesday 29 October.
Are we eligible for the 72-hour Free Transit Visa or do we need to apply for a Single Entry China Visa?

Actually, if you don't have layover in other Chinese cities, you can enjoy the 144h visa-free transit in Shanghai-Jiangsu-Zhejiang Region.
