About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying in to Shanghai and flying out again 6 hours later.

Travelling with a Danish passport do I need to apply for a visa?

It depends on your routing. If Shanghai is your only mainland china landing + your flights in to Shanghai and out of shanghai are not the same country then you can do the 24 hour visa free transit. You will need to spend the 6 hours in the airport since entry permits to leave the airport aren't usually granted for transits under 8 hours.
