Does Quitting My Job Imply the Cancellation of My Residence Permit?

My residence permit is valid for two years. If I quit my job, will the employer cancel my residence permit? Can I quit my current job and stay in China legally to look for a new job?

If you quit your job, your employer has the right to cancel your work permit and residence permit. If you want to still live in China, you need to look for a new job as soon as possible, get another work permit, and then renew your residence permit.
