About:China Visa on Arrival

Hainan VOA

Hello, I have an Irish passport and plan on traveling from Dublin to Sanya airport then to guangzhou to the Foshan area and from there to Bangkok. I did it last year with the Voa but flew from Bangkok to Haikou, and the VOA covered me for my trip to sanya and foshan. I assume nothing has changed and the VOA I pay for on arrival in Sanya will be the same and cover me for the 2 week trip?

Yes in principle, but as the latest practice shows, the Chinese authorities are trying to downgrade the use of Hainan VOA in favor of Hainan 30 day visa free access. In other words, I would suggest you to apply and to obtain a Chinese single entry visa for your planned trip in advance. I know this is a hassle, but you will travel with complete peace of mind.
