I and my husband have a plan to visit Hong Kong/Macao in 2020 early January.We will be leaving Australia early November this for a holiday and on our return trip plan to visit Hong Kong/Macao.Can you please let me know the best time we should apply for Hong Kong visa?

At least one month earlier before your departure to Hong Kong. Because it takes about one month to process the HK visa.
