About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

TWOV 144 hrs for Shanghai

We are arriving to Shanghai on a Wed and will be cruising out of Wusongkuo cruise terminal on Sunday evening to Japan & Hong Kong and will not be returning to China. We will be transiting in Taipei before arriving in Shanghai from Canada and wanted to ensure that we will be elgible for the Transit without Visa program.

Yes, you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in principle. To be certain about that, here are the conditions your itinerary has to fulfill:

- Your flight from Taipei to Shanghai has to be a nonstop one. I assume that it is, but just in case.
- Your first port of call, immediately after Shanghai, should not be in mainland China and Taiwan. Again, I have read what you have written, but just for you to recheck your itinerary.

If the above mentioned conditions are fulfilled, then you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit In Shanghai area.
