USA flight direct to Shanghai, then back to back cruises to Japan from Shanghai

Good day, so I am flying from Detroit (USA) to Shanghai. Staying 2 nights in Shanghai, then boarding a cruise from Shanghai to Nagasaki, back to Shanghai for max 10 hrs, and back out to Okinawa and Fukuoka, then back to Shanghai. Fly back to USA same day. Here is the itinerary below:

16 Sep - arrive in Shanghai from USA (no other stops)
18 sep - board cruise
20 Sep - stop in Nagasaki
22 sep - back in Shanghai
22 sep - depart Shanghai
24 sep - stop in Okinawa
25 sep - stop in Fukuoka
27 sep - back to Shanghai
27 sep - depart Shanghai direct to USA

Does the above qualify for the 144 hr visa?

Your first and third stay in Shanghai are eligible for the 144-hour visa free transit. But the route Nagasaki - Shanghai - Okinawa and Fukuoka is not a transit but a visit, not eligible for the 144-hour visa free transit. Thus a transit visa will be required.
