transit visa

i will be travelling to vancouver from kolkata india by china eastern airlines with stopover at nanjing and other city do i need a transit visa if i remain in the airport only

Harsh, if the total layover time plus domestic flight time in China is not more than 24 hours, you don't need a transit visa.
