About:Entry Regulations of China

Moving to China For Work

I'm moving to China for an extended time to work. Here in the U.S. I normally carry a small pocket knife. Is it legal to carry such a pocket knife in China? If I have such a knife in my checked baggage, will it be confiscated at customs? And lastly, I'm taking several external hard drives with me, should I expect Chinese customs officials to search these hard drives?

As I know, generally speaking, you can put them into the checked luggage.
