Tourist visa, then married, can I work?

I have fallen for a woman from Dongguan online, and am retiring in a few months. If I came to visit, then got married, would I be able to apply for a work visa also, and would an old misdemeanor, and twenty five year old DUI affect anything?

You may apply for a work visa, but not very easy in China. If possible, you can apply for it first and then enter China. The misdemeanor may affect your visa application because usually a non-criminal record is required when applying for a China work permit.
