About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Traveling VIE -> CAN -> MNL

Hi, i am an austrian citizen and i am traveling from Vienna to Manila with a stopover Guangzhou and an additional technical stop in Urumqi for 2 hours.

VIE 19:25 26/09 -> CAN 14:55 27/09 with a technical stop at Urumqi (URC) from 07:55 -> 09:55
CAN 20:45 27/09 -> MNL 23:15

Therefore it should be an eligible route for the 24 hour visa or?
Do i need to go through immigration for a technical stop in Urumqi?

This is China Southern CZ6022 flight that is definitely and confirmed eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. In other words, you will just declare at your Vienna check-in that you will travel to Manila via China using 24 hour visa free transit. You should also print out your tickets and have them with you in hard copy.

You will clear the immigration in Urumqi like the rest of the passengers because although you will continue to Guangzhou with the same plane, the portion between Urumqi and Guangzhou is considered to be a domestic one. This is all quite well organized, so you will just follow the leader of the herd upon your landing in Urumqi :)
