About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Austria-Bangkok-Guangzhou-Bangkok

Hi, I hope I understood the visa free transit right. I am departing in Austria and fly to Bangkok for layover and will not leave the airport. Then i have another flight from Bangkok to Guangzhou, which is the final destination. After Guangzhou I fly to Thailand. Is my initial starting point Austria or Bangkok? I do not leave the airport at the short layover in Bangkok before going to Guangzhou. Thank you

You need a visa or different flights. Thailand-Guangzhou-Thailand won't qualify for transit without visa because it's not a transit. It's irrelevant that you won't leave the airport in Bangkok.
