About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From Lax thru Xiamen Gaoqi Airport(XMN)

Hello, saw a similar question asked back in Dec/2017 for the same route, but it looks like things have changed for this Airport now. Will be Flying from LAX, California,USA to BKK ( Thailand) and currently hold a Thai Passport. From what I read now online, The Chinese government has extended the 24 hour transit visa to include (XMN) airport. So would I still have to get a transit visa now that they have expanded the transit visa airports? Thanks in advance. It is a 5 hour layover both ways to BKK, and back to LAX.

There is no comfirmed inforamtion about this. You'd better apply for a transit visa in advance.

Xiamen airport definitely supports 24 hour visa free transit, but unfortunately Thai citizens are not eligible to use it (24 hour TWOV at Xiamen airport) along with a dozen of other citizenship, so as Leslie has already mentioned, you should definitely apply for a transit (G) visa in advance.
