About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

One way ticket to Shanghai

I am British and I have a flight departing Shanghai on Thursday.

I'm currently in Singapore, can I book a one way ticket from singapore to shangai and stay 72 hours and leave back to UK from Shangai?

Of course. 144 hours in fact. There should be no other stops in mainland China apart from Shanghai, and your Shanghai to UK flight must not be via Singapore.
