72-hour Transit Visa Exemption Program

Hi

I will travel from Australia to Hong Kong and then fly to Shanghai for 3 days. I believe I can apply for 72-hour Transit Visa Exemption Program .

After that I will fly to Beijing for 3 days and then back to Australia. Am I covered if I apply for a 144 hours visa? or do I apply for another 72 hour transit visa Exemption Program?

If you are going to Shanghai and Beijing then you need a tourist (L) visa. Transit without visa would be limited to 24 hours.
