About:China Transit Visa

Do i need to do anything in advance.

I am from the USA. I will be traveling through Chengdu and changing flights. Can i stay 2 days to explore? How long can i stay without applying in advance. I havent booked my plane into Chengdu but i have a flight out so i can make my stay whatever length i wish. Thank you

Jeremy, if you will take a flight from Chengdu to a third country and you don't stop over other cities in mainland China, you can enjoy the 144hrs visa-free transit in Chengdu, so that you can stay there for as long as six days. You don't need to do anything in advance except that you need to inform this of your carrier when taking the first flight.
