About:Hainan 30-Day Visa-Free Access

Attending a wedding in Jingzhou after a vacation in Sanya

My wife and I ( German citizens) are invited to a wedding in Jingzhou in March next year. Before we want to stay for 8 days in Sanya. We will flight from London to Sanya, then Sanya to Wuhan and back from Wuhan directly to London. What kind of Visa do we need?

This is a very simple itinerary and you need only a single entry Chinese tourist (L) visa. Please, have in mind that Hainan is part of mainland China and if you travel on a visa, you don't have to bother with the agencies and their support to go there. Many people are confused because they consider Hainan to be something different that the rest of China because it offers 30 day visa free access. Anyway, this option is of no value for you since you will proceed from Hainan to another destination within mainland China, so you need a Chinese visa anyway.
