Received an email indicating Zupan answered my question, Answer never found?
Question again: can a phenom Pehn- Shanghai- Singapore route qualify for the 144 hr transit without visa.

Jose, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. You should just take care that your flights don't have any additional landing within mainland China.
