About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72/hour visa free

Hi, me and my family will travelling back to Austria, but we have a long stop at Pudong airport like 20 hrs so we plan to go out in the airport and probably stay in the hotel before our flight to Vienna the next day are we qualify for a 72 hrs visa free?
Me and my eldest daughter holding a Philippine passport but we have resident visa in Austria. We are travelling with my Austrian husband and other kids with Austrian passport.

Hi Thank you for the reply, so basically this will be our itinerary from Phillipines:
Phil Airlines
11:10 MNL Manila - 14:55 Shanghai Pudong
Connect in airport in 20 Hrs. (Long wait) then proceed with
Austrian Airlines
11:15 Shanghai Pudong - 16:00 Vienna
Then transfer for our destination
17:20 - Vienna - 18:20 Salzburg

Again me and my daughter holding philippine passport with resident permit in Austria...:)

Mailyn, you didn't mention your precise itinerary and also one key detail and that is whether you are flying on a single or on two (or more) separate tickets. When you supply us with the mentioned details, we will be able to tell you specific details regarding your layover in Shanghai.

Your entire family is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Shanghai and you don't need any kind of visa. Also, you will apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your landing in Shanghai and you will all be granted one to stay in the city and to enjoy your hotel accommodation. You are advised to book your accommodation in advance and to have a booking confirmation in hard copy upon your landing in Shanghai.
