How does someone from Ghana apply for a transit visa even if she is transiting for one and a half hours in Hong Kong ?

Martin, you can submit the application to the China embassy in Ghana or post it to the Hong Kong Immigration.
The required documents include:
1. your recent photograph (affixed on page 1 of the application form ID 1003A)
2. photocopy of your passport
3. photocopy of proof of your financial standing, e.g. bank statements, savings accounts passbooks, tax receipts, etc. and proof of employment (if any), e.g. company leave letter, salary slips, etc.
4. photocopy of proof of transportation arrangement, e.g. flight itinerary
5. photocopy of proof of the proposed visit in the next destination after visiting Hong Kong, itinerary, etc.
