About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Italy - Beijing - Italy. Can I count on this 144 hours Visa-Free?

Good morning,

I need to come to a Congress in Beijing, from the 8th to the 12 of September, from Italy.
Can I come and return back to Italy, with this Visa-Free?
In alternative, what can I do?
Should I book a ticket like "Italy - Beijing - France", so I can use the "transit"?

Thank you very much for your prompt answer

Italy-China-Italy requires a visa. You could fly Italy-Country A-China-Country B-Italy without a visa. For example, you can mix Air France and KLM to fly Italy-Paris-Beijing-Amsterdam-Italy.
