About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

I will have 8 hours & 25minutes between my ights at Guangzhou airport on August 8.

Can I leave the airport?

You will have to apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your landing in Guangzhou. Anyway, you should be aware that the issuing of entry permit is entirely upon discretion of immigration officer at the moment of your application.
