About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

can we get the 144 visum free arrangement?

Hello

I need to be in Hangzhou for 5 days. I am from belgium so we can get the 144 visum free arrangement.
but i only fly brussels - Shanghai - Brussels.
is that ok? no need to go to another city?

Jonas, your itinerary is not eligible for 144 hour visa free transit because this is not a transit since there is no third country! You will need a Chinese tourist (L) visa for this itinerary or you have to rearrange your flights where you will add a third country. For example, something like this:

Brussels - Shanghai
Shanghai - Amsterdam

Actually, there is no 72 hour visa free transit in Shanghai any more because it was replaced by more generous 144 hour visa free transit. By the way, you would be under the same transit obligation even if you stay in Shanghai for less than 72 hours. Simply, speaking if you really want to enjoy this visa free transit scheme, you have to insert the third country within your itinerary. There is no other way. Sorry.
