About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does this qualify for 144 hour visa?

I will be travelling from the UK on an indirect flight to Shanghai then back to the UK.

My flight details are Birmingham to Shanghai indirect (with a layover in France)

Then Shanghai to Birmingham

Does this qualify for 144 hour?

Is your flight from Shanghai to Birmingham a nonstop one? If yes, this qualifies for the 144h visa-free transit.

Itinerary:

Birmingham - France - Shanghai - Birmingham

Is fine as mentioned by Sandy, but since there are no direct flights between Shanghai and Birmingham, your itinerary will require an additional stop somewhere. This is also fine, but it should not be anywhere within mainland China and France!
