About:China Visa

We are Australian and living in Shanghai, my son has recently gone back to Australia to go to uni.

He will visit us probably 2 or 3 times a year for short stays . I understand there is a 10 year visa I can apply for him? A friend in similar situation , their sons visa is for 8 years . What documents do I need , thanks

Yvonne, your son can apply for 10-year S type, which requires valid passport, application form and recent photo, your invitation letter, copy of your passport and residence permit in China, and your son's birth certificate.

Thank you . The reason I’m asking for the 10 year visa is so he can come a few times during the year to visit us in Shanghai . I can’t do an invitation letter as we don’t know exactly when he will come during the year and it will be several times . Are you saying he needs to apply only when he is intending to come ( with the invitation letter) and then he won’t need to do again as he will have the visa in his passport ? Residence permit from me ? His parent? He will be attending university in Melb and not living with us in Shanghai
