About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

Aging parent

I am planning on staying in china as an english teacher long term, at which time, I would like to bring over my mother to stay with me in china, she would then be well over 60 years of age, is this possible for me as a western person (South Africa)

It's ok. You can get a work visa and so that your mother can get an S1 visa based on your work visa. If she can get that, she can live for a long term in China.
