About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

I am planning a trip to Phuket, Thailand from USA in December.

The flight is from USA with Stop in Beijing on both directions.

My question is would I qualify for the 144 hour Visa to visit Beijing .
My itinerary is:

IAH - Beijing (stay for 5 days) - Phuket
Phuket - Beijing (stay for 3 days) - IAH

Will either of these options work ?

You are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing twice. You should just take care that your flights to/from Beijing don't have any other stops in addition to those mentioned in your itinerary.
