About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

Hope you can assist I am going on an Asia cruise in April 2020

and will be visiting Shanghai for 2 nights and then home to Heathrow UK via stop at Dubai.
Our last stops itinerary is as follows

Busan Sth Korea
At sea
Then Shanghai, 2 nights stay at a hotel

Then to Pudong Airport, on route stop at Dubai and then UK, London

Do we need a Visa or do with full into the free visa.

sorry just 1 more question, I have just had another look at the itinerary and we are stopping in-between the cruise just for a day to Taipei, then at sea then Japan and then as per perivous question am I still ok and yes Uk citizen.

In case that you are UK citizens, you are perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai.

Essentially, your itinerary that interests Chinese authorities is:

Busan (South Korea) - Shanghai (China) - Dubai (UAE)

In case that you don't have any other stop within mainland China, before and after your arrival/departure to/from Shanghai, I will repeat, you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.

Stop in Taiwan is perfectly allowed because it is not considered to be a part of mainland China.

So, even with the stops in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and similar, you still remain eligible. Also, a stop in mainland China is also allowed, but it has to be squeezed between two non mainland China ports.

Not to complicate, I will just reconfirm that your entire itinerary is perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai.
