How to register with the local travel agency?

Hi, why do I need to register with the local travel agency? Do I need to pay for a group tour with their agency or what is the thing that I need to pay them to get the 30days free visa? What will they ask for? Thanks

You have to register with the local travel agency because this is a part of the rule that regulates all the aspects of 30 day visa free access for Hainan province.

You don't need to pay for a group tour. You can choose some other services that certain agency has on its offer. For example, people sometimes agree on airport transfer to their accommodation or similar. As you can see, formally, this visa free access is free of charge, but in the same time you use some of the services that will boost the quality of registered agency approach to the non Chinese visitors of Hainan province and this is the real goal of the Hainanese and Chinese authorities in general.

The agency will ask about your data, your itinerary, your flights and your accommodation. They are quite fast in handling the requests and within 3 or 4 working days, they will inform you that your 30 day visa free access is granted.
