About:China Student Visa

Student Visa X1 application in Hong Kong.

I am a British citizen currently holding a Chinese work visa, am resident in China, and intend to start studying full time in September in a Chinese University. I have recently discovered that there is no way to directly apply for a student visa within China, so I will have to leave the country to do so. I want to know is it possible to do this in Hong Kong, or will I have to fly back to Britain to obtain it?

I have the same question. I called up my uni, and they told me I have to go back to my home country to obtain the x1 visa
