Hello, I am phd student in Guangzhou, I want to attend scientific conference that will be held in Taiwan. I would like to apply for Hong Kong visa just in order to apply for Taiwan visa in hong kong. What are the requirements. and which is faster to mail my docs to Hong Kong Immigration by post or to go Beijing Office?

Alfasly, you should prepare valid passport, application form and recent photo, round trip tickets, hotel reservation, financial status proof, and itinerary in Hong Kong. Mailing documents to HK Immigration is more reliable and takes 4 weeks. Going to Beijing Office may be faster, but there may be more time if they transfer your documents to HK Immigration.
