visa rulesfor international flight transit in nanjing?

Question

Will I qualify for 144 hr visa if taking China eastern flight from Australia with transit in nanjing and same flight number continuing to Beijing airport 2 hours later and  then leaving to Japan 3 days later by plane from Beijing? I’m told I don’t clear customs in nanjing and flight is coded as Brisbane Beijing with stop in nanjingThankyou

David, if your total stay in mainland China is shorter than 24 hours, you can enjoy 24h visa exemption transit; otherwise, you need to obtain transit visa in advance as your itinerary is not qualified for 144h transit without visa.
