About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

TWOV USA to Beijing to Shanghai and cruise to other asian countries

Do I qualify for TWOV. I am a US citizen flying from the US to Beijing, staying in Beijing for almost 3 days and then will fly to Shanghai and check-in to Holland America cruise that will depart from Shanghai after almost 2 days. The cruise will depart to other Asian countries.

You need a visa. 144 hours TWOV does not apply because you transit two zones (Beijing and Shanghai) which limits your transit time to 24 hours.
